Background

Mateno Complete is a new herbicide from Bayer Crop Science that is due to be commercialised for the 2022 cropping season, it contains the three active ingredients pyroxasulfone (group K), diflufenican (F) and aclonifen (32). Mateno Complete will offer high level pre-emergent grass weed control when used IBS in wheat and barley as well as suppression of capeweed whilst its early post-emergent registration in wheat will cover suppression / control of certain grass weeds including annual ryegrass and a range of broadleaf weeds. Additionally, Mateno Complete will be registered for IBS use in disc seeded wheat crops. The pathway of uptake from the actives in Mateno Complete will be via a combination of root, shoot and leaf absorption.
