Objectives
1.How does the addition of a sequence partner to Callisto compare to Callisto applied alone with respect to efficacy and crop safety?
2. How does the efficacy of Callisto plus a sequence partner compare to post emergent commercial standards?
Background
The trial was sown on the 4th of June in Dumbleyung, WA. The pre-emergent application was IBS and the post-emergent applications were sprayed at the 4-6 leaf stage. Wild Radish and volunteer Bonito canola were spread before IBS treatments at 8 plants/m2 to mimic a medium-high weed burden. The GRS was 240ml. Calisto has a new mode of action, in group H, registered for pre-emergent control of group B, C, D, F and I resistant weeds.
PRE SEEDING

Key Findings
- At 6 WAS there was no significant difference between Callisto used standalone and Callisto followed by a sequence partner.
- Calliso Verse had better weed control than the other treatments, with the exception of Logran which had no significant difference with volunteer canola control.
- Callisto followed by a sequence partner increased residual activity 11 WAS by an average of 15% compared to Callisto stand alone. However, no significant difference to Colt + LVE Agritone and Paradigm + LVE Agritone.
- No phytotoxicity 3WAS and 6WAS
- Distinctive bleaching of broadleaf weed cotelydons 3WAS
- Callisto’s active (Mesotrione) is a group H, therefore the sequence partner must be in a different group.
